Mark Laurence (Clerk)Mark Laurence has had wide experience with the court system in Victoria. Prior to joining the Clerkship he was the Senior Officer in Criminal Listings. He has also been a Clerk of Courts (magistracy) and served at a number of suburban courts over the years. Mark began working with former clerk Peter Roberts in 1987; he resumed his role of office manager after a short absence in 2002/2003. Prior to that time Denise was employed by the previous two Barristers' Clerks. Denise represents the front window of the office and is widely respected not only by Counsel on this List but also the legal fraternity in general. Denise has the unique ability to recognise a voice and identify the caller even though it may be over 12 months between calls. From that initial entry position, Malav's knowledge of the in-house accounting systems progressed quickly - and was appointed Accounts Manager a few months later. Malav has recently commenced the C.P.A. accreditation program on a part-time basis to complement his Master's degree in Accounting (CQU - Rockhampton Campus), and to augment his professional capacity in this area. Prior to his entry into the legal industry in 2006, his professional background was acting chiefly as junior officer in the areas of banking and public administration. He completed the Advanced Diploma of Business (Legal Practice) in 2003 and partially completed an Arts/Law degree course in 2004/2005. Gavin's primary role with the Clerk is mailroom duties.
